INNATE IMMUNE CELLSIN IMMUNE TOLERANCE AFTER LIVER TRANSPLANTATION

چکیده

Currently, liver transplantation is the most effective treatment for end-stage disease. Immuno-suppressive agents are required to be taken after operations, which have significantly reduced rejection rates and improved short-term (<1 year) survival rates. However, post-transplant complications related immuno-suppressive therapy led development of new protocols aimed at protecting renal function preventing de novo cancer dysmetabolic syndrome. Donor specific immune tolerance, means mature systems recipients will not attack grafts under conditions without any immunosuppression therapies, considered optimal state transplantation. There been studies that shown some patients can reach this tolerance The intrahepatic system quite different from in other solid organs, especially innate system. It contains a variety cells, such as liver-derived dendritic Kupffer sinusoidal endothelial natural killer (NK) T (NKT) so on. Depending on their structures functions, these cells play important roles tolerance. In article, order deeper understanding tolerogenic functions liver, we summarized molecular mechanisms induced by

Animal Models of Immune Tolerance in Liver Transplantation

Liver transplantation is the most effective treatment for endstage liver diseases with satisfactory clinical results. Unfortunately, adverse effects of life-long immunosuppression prevent the development of alternative strategies to achieve better long-term outcome. Achieving clinical operational tolerance is the ultimate goal in the clinical transplantation field. Around 15% of liver transplan...

The innate immune system in transplantation.

The vertebrate innate immune system consists of inflammatory cells and soluble mediators that comprise the first line of defense against microbial infection and, importantly, trigger antigen-specific T and B cell responses that lead to lasting immunity. The molecular mechanisms responsible for microbial non-self recognition by the innate immune system have been elucidated for a large number of ...

Innate Pathways of Immune Activation in Transplantation

Studies of the immune mechanisms of allograft rejection have predominantly focused on the adaptive immune system that includes T cells and B cells. Recent investigations into the innate immune system, which recognizes foreign antigens through more evolutionarily primitive pathways, have demonstrated a critical role of the innate immune system in the regulation of the adaptive immune system. Inn...

Innate Immune Cells in Liver Inflammation

Innate immune system is the first line of defence against invading pathogens that is critical for the overall survival of the host. Human liver is characterised by a dual blood supply, with 80% of blood entering through the portal vein carrying nutrients and bacterial endotoxin from the gastrointestinal tract. The liver is thus constantly exposed to antigenic loads. Therefore, pathogenic microo...
